London - English Premier League club Everton have signed midfielder Gareth Barry on a three-year contract, the club announced on Tuesday evening.
The 33-year old, who spent the last season at Goodison Park on loan from Manchester City, was out of contract at City and became the first close season signing by manager Roberto Martinez as he prepares for a Europa League campaign.
"I'm delighted now that everything is signed and that I'm going to be spending the next few years at Everton," Barry said.
"When you are on loan, it is never the same as being a signed player. I was really settled last year - but now I am an official Everton player and it feels really good."
Barry netted three times in over 30 appearances for the Toffees last season.
Barry leaves Manchester City after four successful seasons at the Sky Blues including winning the league in 2011/2012.
