Cape Town - Schalke’s £14million-rated World Cup-winning defender Benedikt Howedes says a move to England would be his goal.
Arsenal and Manchester United's chances of a summer move for Benedikt Howedes have improved according to The Mirror.
Howedes revealed that he would not be able to play for another Bundesliga club before highlighting the next league he would like to play in.
"If I am to leave Schalke one day, I do not want to move clubs within the Bundesliga." said Howedes.
“Schalke is too close to my heart to do so. But a move abroad at a certain time would be worth an experience.
"England would be my goal.”
Howedes played an integral role for Germany in their successful 2014 World Cup campaign and is thought to be a much cheaper alternative to Manchester United's long-term target Mats Hummels.
The German centre back is edging closer to his 200th league appearance for Schalke.
Howedes current contract with Schalke expires in 2017.
