Cape Town - Liverpool have made contact with Edinson Cavani's representatives over a move to England after failing to land Falcao.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Edinson Cavani is being targeted by Liverpool after failing to lure Falcao to Anfield.
Liverpool were rebuffed in their approach for the Colombian striker with his club saying that the player would only leave if Real Madrid was the destination.
The Reds are now targeting PSG front-man Edinson Cavani as the player to replace Luis Suarez.
Reports suggest Liverpool have made an initial approach for the striker but the move appears to be growing some momentum after the player's agent revealed that Cavani is keen on a move to England.
“There has been much interest in the player during the last six months,” El Telegrafo quotes his agent as saying.
"I can confirm that Cavani heard proposals from Liverpool and Arsenal.
“(Cavani) Already said he would love to play in England, but has not yet made a final decision.
“He is not interested in money and fame; he just wants to be happy playing football.”
PSG could be tempted to sell Cavani in order to strengthen their Financial Fair Play position.
Cavani scored 78 goals in 103 appearances for Napoli before sealing a €64.5 million move to the Ligue 1 champions PSG in 2013.
The Uruguayan striker made 43 appearances for PSG in all competitions last season where he scored 25 goals.
