VAN PERSIE'S FUTURE IN DOUBT?

Robin van Persie is keeping his options open over his future at Manchester United as he enters a final season of his contract with the club, Dutch media reported on Wednesday.

The striker returned from injury towards the end of the season but was no longer able to command a regular place in the team.

"The club must do its homework and so must I. It's a new situation," he told reporters in an interview with several Dutch newspapers ahead of Friday's friendly international between the Netherlands and the U.S. in Amsterdam.

MILNER QUITS CITY

Liverpool have moved quickly into the transfer market after a disappointing end to the season, announcing on Thursday that midfielder James Milner was joining them from Manchester City.

The 29-year-old, who has 53 caps for England, is out of contract at City and will join Liverpool on a free transfer on July 1, the Premier League club said on its website.

DE GEA HAS NOT SAID GOODBYE

The Express report that Manchester United's goalkeeper David De Gea has not said his goodbyes at Old Trafford, disputing claims that the talented shot-stopper has agreed a move to Real Madrid.

De Gea is yet to decide on his future and a new £200,000-a-week contract remains on the table.

STERLING WANTED BY LOUIS VAN GAAL

Manchester United are "set to make a £25 million offer for Raheem Sterling" reports the Mirror.

Louis van Gaal reportedly maintains a firm interest in the Liverpool contract rebel and is set to test Liverpool's resolve in keeping the talented young English star.

The same source reports that "Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also monitoring developments" regarding Sterling's potential Anfield exit.

LLORIS TO REPLACE DE GEA?

The Manchester Evening News link Hugo Lloris with a move to Old Trafford, if (or when) David De Gea departs for Real Madrid.

Lloris was tipped to replace Edwin Van Sar in 2011 and has previously said his dream club are the Red Devils.

“Manchester United is a great football club,”said Lloris.

“They are one of the most successful clubs in the world, so Manchester is one of the clubs that make me dream."

"NEW" LIVERPOOL SIGNING HAS REDS BELIEF

Divock Origi, who signed for Liverpool after the Soccer World Cup, says his new team have the quality to win the league.

Origi told Sky Sports News HQ: "I think Liverpool is a wonderful club that deserves to be at the top and to be honest with the players they have, with the quality they have, then they should be finishing at the top of the league."

The Belgian had a season to forget at Lille and was named in a French magazine's "Ligue 1 worst team of the season".

Reus told Sport Bild: "I do not have any regrets. Why would I regret my decision to sign a new deal? I thought about it for a long time before I signed a new deal. I still feel exactly the same about it."

BERBATOV EYES ENGLAND RETURN

Dimitar Berbatov is keen to return to the Premier League, according to Sky Sports.

Berbatov has played for Manchester United, Tottenham and Fulham but was released by Monaco after his contract expired.

The Bulgarian striker is now 34-years-old.

DE GEA MUM ON FUTURE

Speaking (or should that be not speaking?) in Spain, David De Gea refused to answer questions regarding his future.

Quizzed at an awards evening, De Gea was honoured with the "Adopted Son of Castilla-La Mancha award", the Real Madrid target offered no new news.

“We’ll see what happens with my future...Now I am on holiday and I am very happy for this recognition,” he said.

De Gea's current contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the 2015/16 season.

Arsene Wenger has attempted to play down speculation linking Arsenal with a bid for Juventus star Arturo Vidal.

"Asked whether he would be making a move for Juventus star Vidal, Wenger was quick to highlight the abundance of strength his squad already possesses in midfield." reports the Evening Standard.

TERRY SEES NO END TO CAPTAIN/MANAGER PARTNERSHIP

John Terry fired off a warning to Chelsea's Premier League rivals: He plans on sticking around for a few more seasons.

The 34-year-old is not planning on retiring just yet...

The central defender, who played his first match for Chelsea in 1998, said he does not see the end of the road for their successful manager-captain partnership just yet."I'm hoping that's going to continue for a few more years at least," he said.

"I'm hoping to finish my career at Chelsea. I'm hoping I can do that under the manager and still be playing."

Chelsea play Sydney FC in a post-season friendly on Tuesday.
