Liverpool have reportedly been rejected with their initial bid for England right-back Nathaniel Clyne.

Clyne, is a transfer target for Manchester United, will cost more than £10 million after Liverpool's offer was sent back by Southampton.

The Saints defender has had a fantastic season, attracting interest from a number of top clubs.

Southampton remain hopeful that Clyne will extend his stay at the club, with his current deal set to expire next season.

Ivory Coast centre-back Toure, 34, is believed to have agreed to a one-year extension.

"Liverpool FC are pleased to announce Kolo Toure has signed an extension to his contract with the club," Liverpool said in a statement on their website.

Veteran Dutch coach Dick Advocaat has stepped down as head coach of Sunderland days after he ensured they retained their English Premier League status.

The 67-year-old - who among his many achievements has won league titles in three different countries - said he had received offers from other clubs but as he approaches his 68th birthday (September 27) he no longer wished to continue in club management.

Former Manchester United captain Rio Ferdinand and midfielder Joey Barton were among six players released by Queens Park Rangers following their relegation from the Premier League.

Joining Ferdinand and Barton in the search for a new club are Bobby Zamora, defender Richard Dunne, winger Shaun Wright-Phillips and goalkeeper Brian Murphy.

CARROLL KEEN ON A MOVE BACK HOME

Andy Carroll wants to engineer a summer move back to Newcastle United during the summer.

The 26-year-old striker was a youth product of Newcastle before moving to Liverpool for £35 million in 2011.

Carroll made a loan move to West Ham after failing to impress at Anfield.

In May 2013, West Ham signed Carroll on a permanent deal for around £15 million.

SAINTS AFTER ANOTHER DUTCH STAR

Southampton's Dutch manager is interested in a move for Jordy Clasie, shortly after bringing Eljero Elia to St. Mary's Stadium.

The Daily Star reports that Clasie's club, Feyenoord, have already rejected an initial bid from Southampton.

Southampton will have to up their bid from £5 million to  £12.7 million to sign Clasie. 

Clasie scored 2 goals in 33 appearances for Feyernoord this season.

Paul Pogba is not keen on a return to the Premier League and will only leave Juventus for La Liga.

The 22-year-old midfielder is set to snub interest from Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea in favour of a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid, reports L'Equipe

SPURS WANT INGS ON A FREE

Tottenham Hotspur are tipped to rival Liverpool for the signature of England Under-21 international Danny Ings, reports the Independent.

Ings' Burnley deal expires at the end of May but Burnley will still recoup £5 million to £6 million as training compensation.

Ings scored 11 goals for Burnley but failed to help his side remain in the Premier League.

The same source hints at an Arsenal move for South­ampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

TERRY AIMS TO END HIS CAREER AT CHELSEA

Chelsea legend John Terry wants to end his career at Stamford Bridge, reports talkSPORT.

Terry's remarkable 2014/15 season form ensured a further one year stay at the club and now the 34-year-old star is eyeing to finish his career at the Blues.

Terry did however say that he would consider a move to the MLS should he still feel good enough to play on and Chelsea decide otherwise.

“I would love to finish my career at Chelsea. I certainly don’t want to play for another club in the Premier League or England. I don’t think you get that loyalty within football anymore." said Terry.

BALE THE KEY TO BENITEZ'S MADRID 

With media outlets widely reporting that Rafael Benitez is the man to take over from Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, the Mirror report that the former Liverpool and Chelsea boss wants to make Gareth Bale his main man.

Bale has struggled for form this season and has found life tough at the Santiago Bernabeu with fans constantly heckling the club's record £86m signing.

This news is sure to end any and all talk of a possible Manchester United move for Bale in the summer...

Manchester United are interested in Barcelona's experienced right back Dani Alves, who is a free agent in the summer. The Telegraph report that the Brazilian is Louis van Gaal's preferred choice and not Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne.

The same source reports that Manchester United are still interested in Mats Hummels while his German teammate Benedikt Howedes is also being linked with a move to Old Trafford. 

The Telegraph dismiss talk of a move for Valencia's Argentine defender Nicolas Otamendi.

BENZEMA LINKED WITH RED DEVILS

Karim Benzema has been linked with a move to Arsenal in yesterday's updates and today there is talk of a move to Manchester United. 

The 27-year-old France star has four years left on his current deal so any move for the Real Madrid striker would cost in excess of £40 million.

Benzema netted 22 goals in 46 appearances this season with 10 assists.

Olivier Giroud sold to PSG to raise money for Arsenal's purchase of Real Madrid star Karim Benzema (£35 million).

Liverpool's on-loan striker Divock Origi has been named in L’Equipe’s Ligue 1 Worst Team of the Season.

The Belgium youngster signed for the Merseyside club after the Soccer World Cup for £10 million but spent the season on loan at Lille. 

The 20-year-old scored eight goals in 33 appearances but failed to scored between between October and March (20 games).

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur look set to lose out on Saints midfielder after the player's latest comments.

Morgan Schneiderlin will stay at Southampton and reject any others from Premier League clubs not involved in Champions League football next season.

"Yes, I think my decision is made," he told French radio station RMC.

"I learned a lot last season.

"The goal is to stay in England. It is a championship that I like and where I have a lot of fun."If I leave Southampton, it is for a club that plays better than the Europa League."

Kolo Toure, who is out of contract at the end of the month, will be offered a new one year deal at Liverpool, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Ivorian defender told the Echo: “I think the situation will be resolved soon. We are talking,” he said.“Liverpool is a great club for me to stay at. Liverpool is going to be massive. I love Premier League football and I played all my years here. And if I can finish here it would be great."

Real Madrid have reportedly turned down the chance to sign Javier Hernandez on a permanent deal.

Hernandez will now return to Manchester United but his future at the English club appears over.

The Mexican international, who scored 9 goals in 33 games for Los Blancos, has been linked with a move to Southampton and West Ham United.

Sami Khadira has reportedly agreed a deal to join Champions League finalists Juventus.

RODGERS SAFE AS REDS EYE BENTEKE 

Fenway Sports Group, the owners of Liverpool, are reportedly keen on bringing Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke to the club in the summer, reports the Independent.

Liverpool's goalscoring problems are well documented and Benteke is the man identified to solve the issues for the Merseyside club.

Benteke could cost as much as £20 million as the Belgian has more than two years left on his current Villa contract.

The same source also report that Brendan Rodgers will be kept on as manager of the club.

Following his side's final day humiliation at Stoke City, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers may well be looking for new work by the time the new season starts.

The young English striker's value sky-rocketed this term and many English fans will be hoping that the talented striker can continue his form in the national team's colours. Didier Drogba will not play for another English team when he leaves Chelsea and may follow Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard by ending his career in the United States.

The 37-year-old former Ivory Coast forward played his final game for Chelsea when the Premier League champions beat Sunderland 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

"There are some really fantastic teams in the Premier League but my love for this club...I can't share it with another English team," he told the Daily Telegraph on Monday.

Frank Lampard can't wait to start his new life in New York after ending his glittering Premier League career in typically stylish fashion.

Yaya Toure's agent has performed a U-turn by declaring that the Ivory Coast midfielder would remain at Manchester City for next season.

Dimitri Seluk had previously claimed that Toure, 32, was "90 percent certain" to leave the Etihad Stadium amid reports of interest from Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.
