SAINTS REJECT BID AS REDS MOVE FOR UNITED TARGET
Liverpool have reportedly been rejected with their initial bid for England right-back Nathaniel Clyne.
Clyne, is a transfer target for Manchester United, will cost more than £10 million after Liverpool's offer was sent back by Southampton.
The Saints defender has had a fantastic season, attracting interest from a number of top clubs.
Southampton remain hopeful that Clyne will extend his stay at the club, with his current deal set to expire next season.

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has signed a contract extension, the Premier League club has announced.
Ivory Coast centre-back Toure, 34, is believed to have agreed to a one-year extension.
"Liverpool FC are pleased to announce Kolo Toure has signed an extension to his contract with the club," Liverpool said in a statement on their website.

Veteran Dutch coach Dick Advocaat has stepped down as head coach of Sunderland days after he ensured they retained their English Premier League status.
The 67-year-old - who among his many achievements has won league titles in three different countries - said he had received offers from other clubs but as he approaches his 68th birthday (September 27) he no longer wished to continue in club management.

CARROLL KEEN ON A MOVE BACK HOME
Andy Carroll wants to engineer a summer move back to Newcastle United during the summer.
The 26-year-old striker was a youth product of Newcastle before moving to Liverpool for £35 million in 2011.
Carroll made a loan move to West Ham after failing to impress at Anfield.
In May 2013, West Ham signed Carroll on a permanent deal for around £15 million.

Southampton's Dutch manager is interested in a move for Jordy Clasie, shortly after bringing Eljero Elia to St. Mary's Stadium.
The Daily Star reports that Clasie's club, Feyenoord, have already rejected an initial bid from Southampton.
Southampton will have to up their bid from £5 million to £12.7 million to sign Clasie.
Clasie scored 2 goals in 33 appearances for Feyernoord this season.

TERRY AIMS TO END HIS CAREER AT CHELSEA
Chelsea legend John Terry wants to end his career at Stamford Bridge, reports talkSPORT.
Terry's remarkable 2014/15 season form ensured a further one year stay at the club and now the 34-year-old star is eyeing to finish his career at the Blues.
Terry did however say that he would consider a move to the MLS should he still feel good enough to play on and Chelsea decide otherwise.
“I would love to finish my career at Chelsea. I certainly don’t want to play for another club in the Premier League or England. I don’t think you get that loyalty within football anymore." said Terry.

BENZEMA LINKED WITH RED DEVILS
Karim Benzema has been linked with a move to Arsenal in yesterday's updates and today there is talk of a move to Manchester United.
The 27-year-old France star has four years left on his current deal so any move for the Real Madrid striker would cost in excess of £40 million.

Liverpool's on-loan striker Divock Origi has been named in L’Equipe’s Ligue 1 Worst Team of the Season.
The Belgium youngster signed for the Merseyside club after the Soccer World Cup for £10 million but spent the season on loan at Lille.
The 20-year-old scored eight goals in 33 appearances but failed to scored between between October and March (20 games).

RODGERS SAFE AS REDS EYE BENTEKE
Fenway Sports Group, the owners of Liverpool, are reportedly keen on bringing Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke to the club in the summer, reports the Independent.
Liverpool's goalscoring problems are well documented and Benteke is the man identified to solve the issues for the Merseyside club.

Didier Drogba will not play for another English team when he leaves Chelsea and may follow Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard by ending his career in the United States.
The 37-year-old former Ivory Coast forward played his final game for Chelsea when the Premier League champions beat Sunderland 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
