Cape Town - Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Laurent Koscielny were impossible to leave out of EPL Team of the Week 22.
Arsenal secured a famous victory against Manchester City at the venue where they were humiliated last season 6-3. Sunday's fixture was the polar opposite with the Gunners transformed into a steely, combative side with a focus on defending and not swift attacks.
Manchester United, Southampton, Liverpool and Spurs all did enough to get three points and keep the race for third and fourth place very much alive.
Chelsea led by Diego Costa and Oscar humbled Swansea City while Alan Pardew guided Crystal Palace to a brilliant come from behind win away at Burnley.
EPL Team of the Week 22:
1. Simon Mignolet (Liverpool) - Kept a vital clean sheet and produced a number of saves to ensure the Red's momentum was maintained.
2. Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea) - Back to his best, the Serbian's contribution to Chelsea's attacking intent was vital and included an assist.
3. Marc Muniesa (Stoke City) - Spirited performance from the Spaniard as Stoke City earned a much needed away win.
4. Phil Jones (Manchester United) - Definitely one of Jones more composed outings and he, along with the rest of the United backline, will be delighted with a clean sheet.
5. Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal) - Was fantastic at the back for Arsenal as he made Silva, Navas and Aguero look ordinary.
6. Francis Coquelin (Arsenal) - Coquelin went from on-loan at Charlton to super-star in the making with a brilliant performance.
7. Stewart Downing (West Ham United) - West Ham are keeping up in 'the Champions League place' race and have Downing, and a few others, to thank for this.
8. Santi Cazorla (Arsenal) - No superlative could describe his game on Sunday.
9. Eljero Elia (Southampton) - Fantastic performance by the Dutch winger. A brace ensures his place in this side ahead of Hazard and Oscar.
10. Dwight Gayle (Crystal Palace) - Pardew's lucky charm? Gayle simply could not be left out of this week's side.
11. Diego Costa (Chelsea) - Re-entered the race for the Player of the Season title with another outstanding match.
