EPL: Players to watch Week 9

Cape Town - Sport24 soccer expert Wade Pretorius looks at which Premier League players are going to shine and which players may not...

38.5 points in Week 8 means I now sit in 13th place in the Sport24 pool which is still be lead by Mossy (real name Moses Nkwane).

In the last game week, I made the call to go with Eden Hazard but Kevin de Bruyne outscored the out of sorts Chelsea star by 8 points. Mahrez was left on the bench as Ozil went on to score 10 points leaving me off the pace.

Players to watch in week nine:

1. Diego Costa (Chelsea) - Aguero is out injured which means this week I chose Costa over Graziano Pelle as my player in band one.

2. Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City) - City at home to Bournmouth...it could get messy. Expect De Bruyne to continue his early season form in this one.

3. Sadio Mane (Southampton) - I expect a high-scoring encounter as the Foxes travel to face Southampton. After leaving out Pelle, I'm hoping Sadio Mane gets onto the score sheet.

4. Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea) - Aston Villa should not trouble Chelsea's defence too much so I'm expecting Azpilicueta to star at home.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
