Dzeko keen on City stay

Cape Town - Bosnian forward Edin Dzeko has entered into contract negotiations over a new deal after confirming his desire to remain at the Sky Blues.

According to the Mail, the player's current deal comes to an end after the 2014/15 and both parties are eager to see the striker remain at Manchester City.

Despite not being Manuel Pellegrini's first choice striker, Dzeko had an impressive 2013/14 season which saw him finish as City's second highest scorer with 26 goals last season.

"I can only say that I’m very happy at City and at the moment we are talking about a contract,' said Dzeko ahead of Manchester City's friendly against LIverpool.

"We will see what happens but the main thing is I’m happy at City."
