Cape Town - Manchester United target Bastian Schweinsteiger has been warned against joining the English giants.
Franz Beckenbauer believes that Schweinsteiger should carry on for at least one more season at Bayern Munich.
Manchester Evening News reports that Franz Beckenbauer thinks the 30-year-old midfielder would be making a mistake by joining Manchester United this summer.
“I would advise him not to go to England." Beckenbauer said.
"He can stay here as well.
"This challenge, at his age, it’s not what he needs."
After calling time at Bayern, Beckenbauer says the 2014 World Cup winner should end his career in the MLS.
Schweinsteiger is reportedly open to leaving the Bundesliga as he seeks a fresh challenge.
His contract with the Bavarian giants ends next season.
