Cape Town - French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin must quit Southampton this summer to save his international career, says former France national team coach Raymond Domenech.
Teamtalk report that Raymond Domenech has offered the Southampton midfielder advice on how to make the European Championships next summer.
The 25-year-old is the subject of much speculation of a possible move to Manchester United.
Domenech believes this would be a good move and thinks Schneiderlin could miss out on Euro 2016 if he fails to leave Southampton this summer.
"Manchester United is a good move for him." Domenech said.
The 63-year-old manager then promptly followed up that comment with a jibe regarding Schneiderlin's possible future club. He said: "United are better than Southampton, sure, but it's not (Manchester) City, it's not Chelsea. For him, the first thing is to leave Southampton."
Schneiderlin joined the Saints in 2008 from French club RC Strasbourg's youth ranks.
