Daniel Sturridge has missed an incredible amount of games for Liverpool

2014-11-19 13:38
Cape Town - Daniel Sturridge's stay on the sideline is expected to increase after it was revealed that the English striker was injured during training.

Sturridge injured his thigh during training this week and is likely to miss the Reds trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday. (Read the full story here)

The 24-year-old has not played for the Merseyside club since August 31 after a thigh strain suffered while on England duty was followed by a calf problem he sustained while undergoing his first training session back at Liverpool.

In his absence, three Liverpool strikers have gone 1000 minutes without scoring for the Anfield club.

Sturridge has suffered THIRTEEN injuries since his arrival at the club and has missed a staggering 30 games as a result.

Just how bad is this injury record?

The brilliant folks at Project Babb have put Sturridge's injuries into context and have compared the number of games missed to that of former teammate Luis Suarez...

Daniel Sturridge has missed 37% of games through injury at Liverpool:

How does that compare to Luis Suarez?

If you are looking for another example, injury-prone Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has missed just 27% of games for the Citizens.

Time to hire another physio at Liverpool, perhaps?
