Cape Town - Chelsea have suffered an injury blow to Diego Costa after the Spanish
international pulled his hamstring during training yesterday.
According to the Guardian, the severity of the strain remains to be determined, but reports suggest Costa could be out for up to six weeks and is a definite doubt to feature at Goodison Park against Everton over the weekend.
The £32m signing from Atlético Madrid will undergo further tests and while the initial prognosis appeared grim, there are hopes the injury will not prove as severe as first feared.
The 25-year-old has scored in each of his first two appearances in the Premier League and has swiftly established himself as first-choice and a key member of José Mourinho’s preferred line-up.
The Blues now fear the injury to Costa may force them into rethinking the proposed loan deal with AC Milan for Fernando Torres.
