Coquelin extends Arsenal stay

London - Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has signed a new long-term contract with the Premier League side, it was announced onTuesday.

Arsenal said on their website that the 20-year-old's future at the club was now assured following completion of the deal.

"Everyone at Arsenal looks forward to Francis's continued contribution to the club in the years to come," a statement said without revealing the length of the contract.

Coquelin, 20, has made 12 appearances for Arsenal this season after spending last year on loan with French side Lorient.
