City tracking Juve star

Cape Town - Manchester City are interested in luring experienced Swiss defender Stephan Lichtsteiner to England.

The Manchester Evening News report that Manchester City have sent scouts to assess Stephan Lichtsteiner's abilities.

The Swiss defender has also been linked with a move to Arsenal with both clubs keen to take advantage of the versatile defender's contract situation in Turin.

Manchester City are now favourites to land Lichtsteiner with reports suggesting the Citizens could offer 21-year-old Serbian defender Matija Nastasic in exchange for Lichtsteiner.

Nastasic has fallen out-of-favour at the Etihad and is open to a return to the Serie A.

The Swiss star completed a move his move to Juventus in 2011 for a fee in the region of  €10 million and has gone on to become a first team regular at the club.
