According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester City are expected to announce their £32 million signing of French defender Eliaquim Mangala.

Manchester City have added Bacary Sagna, Fernando, Frank Lampard (on loan) and Willy Cabellero to their squad in the summer transfer window.

Manchester City's pre-season preparations begin in earnest on Monday as six of the squad's key players return from World Cup duty and City want their new signing to link up with the squad as soon as possible.

Mangala will provide the necessary support to a side that has over-relied on captain Vincent Kompany  and allow the champions of England to push for European glory.

While Mangala is going to begin his career at Manchester City, Jack Rodwell, Scott Sinclair and Micah Richards, Javi Garcia, John Guidetti and Matija Nastasic are all fighting for their future at the Etihad.
