Chelsea, impressive 3-1 victors on Monday night over newcomers Burnley, have been installed as 6/4 title favourites by leading UK bookies Ladbrokes, ahead of City (15/8), who accounted for Newcastle United 2-0 away from home.

Arsenal, 2-1 winners against Crystal Palace in their opening match, are next best at 5/1, while last season's runners-up, Liverpool, and last year's strugglers, Manchester United, have already seen their odds lengthened to 10/1.

Liverpool struggled past Southampton 2-1, while United fans saw their team crash to an embarrassing 2-1 defeat to minnows Swansea City at Old Trafford.
