Chelsea fan dies after Lampard goal

Cape Town - Fahad Musana, a professional footballer in Uganda, passed away shortly after watching Frank Lampard score against former club Chelsea.

Musana, a player on the books of Simba FC in the Ugandan Premier League, was believed to be a long time Chelsea fan.

Eurosport.com report that Musana collapsed while watching the Manchester City against Chelsea clash in a hall in Uganda. Attempts to revive Musana were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead once the ambulance arrived at the nearest hospital.

The Uganda Football Association (FUFA) confirmed the news in a statement: "Fufa is in shock after receiving news about the sudden death of Simba FC player Musana Fahad in Bombo this evening."

Musana's friend Gerald Bagoole told reporters: "He has been a passionate fan of Chelsea and would do anything for the club."

"We trained with him on Sunday morning, had lunch together."

Musana's coach at Simba FC, Fred Kajoba, confirmed the Musana had trained in the morning before the game.

"He even trained with us at the Bombo military Baracks stadium in the morning of the fateful incident and completed the session well."

Simba FC next match was postponed due to the sudden death of their player.
