Cape Town - Atletico Madrid are reportedly looking to tempt midfielder Santi Cazorla into a move to La Liga.

teamtalk.com report that Arsenal will have a fight on their hands to convince in-form Cazorla to stay at the club.

Cazorla, who has been outstanding at the Emirates this season, has just 18 months left on his current deal with the London club.

Defending La Liga champions, Atletico Madrid, are keen on bringing the midfielder back to Spain and have made contact with the player's representatives according to Spanish soccer expert Guillem Balague.

“He has 18 months left on his contract at Arsenal, and Atletico have contacted Cazorla’s entourage,” Ballague told Revista.

"Atletico are convinced that they can persuade the player to join them. Then they just have to pay the money.

"There will be one year left on his contract in the summer, and will be available for cheaper."

Atletico's coach Diego Simeone may have to convince Cazorla that he will have a regular first team spot in a squad which already boasts Koke and Arda Turan.

Cazorla, who has featured in all but one league fixture this term for the Gunners,  has scored six goals in the league this season while also contributing with six assists.
