Bookies: It's Chelsea's title

Garrin Lambley

Cape Town - The 2009/10 English Premiership title is heading to Stamford Bridge with one round of fixtures remaining, say the bookies.

Chelsea, who beat Liverpool 2-0 on Sunday, currently hold a one-point lead atop the Premiership standings (83 points after 37 matches) with Manchester United, 1-0 winners over Sunderland on Sunday, in second position (82 points after 37 games).

Chelsea face Wigan at home on the final day of the season, while United are up against Stoke at Old Trafford.

Leading South African bookies, GreatOdds, have Chelsea on offer at 1/12 to win the title, while United can be backed at 11/2.

United are the defending champions and are looking for a record 12th title since the Premiership's inception in the 1992/93 season.

The remaining match for the two title contenders are as follows:

Chelsea: Played 37, 83 points

Wigan (H) - May 9, 17:00

Manchester United: Played 37, 82 points

Stoke (H) - May 9, 17:00
