Besiktas target Blues' Salah

Cape Town - Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah could be heading to Istanbul after Besiktas president Fikret Orman confirmed that a transfer is being negotiated for a mystery Blues player.

Salah moved to Stamford Bridge from FC Basel after scoring against The Blues home and away in the Champions League group stages last season. However, The Egyptian hasn’t been as deadly for Chelsea as he was against them and has managed just two goals in thirteen appearances since moving to England last January.

Jose Mourinho has settled on a regular starting eleven, which excludes Salah and has limited his playing time at Stamford Bridge. With Orman in the UK, the press are confidently saying he’s after the Egyptian, although he would not confirm the details of the deal.

"I was in England and held talks with Chelsea but it would be wrong to disclose who the negotiations were regarding," Football411  quote Orman as saying.

"The talks are ongoing, if I was to tell you who the transfer was regarding it could make the move more difficult. We have not held talks yet, however, Chelsea have recently made an agreement with Besiktas."

Although the identity of Orman’s target remains unknown, he did reveal that they are "not interested in Petr Cech but we are working together with Chelsea to sign a player."
