Cape Town - Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov is reportedly close to agreeing a deal to join Premier League strugglers Aston Villa.
The Express report that Aston Villa will offer Dimitar Berbatov one last chance in the English topflight.
Released by Monaco at the end of last season, the former Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Fulham player is now in line to replace Christian Benteke in the club's squad.
Berbatov's qualities were highlighted to manager Tim Sherwood by former Villa star and ex-Bulgaria national team-mate Stiliyan Petrov.
"It'll be a pleasure [to return to England]," said Berbatov.
"I spent a long time in England and I keep very good memories. Everyone is watching the Premier League, and I'll be delighted to return."
The English newspaper also reports that Berbatov has offers from Germany and Turkey.
