Arsenal to take on Nigeria

London - Arsenal will play Nigeria in a pre-season friendly on August 5 during the Gunners' first trip to Nigeria and their first to Africa since they visited South Africa in 1993.

The English Premier League club says it will face the Nigerians at the National Stadium in the capital, Abuja.

Arsenal said on Wednesday it will be the last of four pre-season friendlies on a tour of Asia and Africa which also includes matches in Malaysia and China.

Arsene Wenger's team plays a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur on July 24, English Premier League champions Manchester City in Beijing on July 27 and Kitchee FC in Hong Kong on July 29.

Arsenal finished third in the English Premier League last season.
