Arsenal linked with Blues target

Caoe Town - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking to steal a march on rival Jose Mourinho by pressing ahead with a move for Roma star Mattia Destro.

The Daily Star report that Arsenal want to Mattia Destro to the English Premiership in January.

The Italian striker was linked with a move to the English Premiership with both Chelsea and Arsenal reportedly interested in securing his services last June.

"It's right the coach does his evaluations, at the end of the season I'll do mine." said Destro, hinting that he may leave the Romans.

"I can only do my talking on the pitch. Some people speak with their voice, I speak on the field.

"I try to score goals when I have the opportunity. [Should I be given] more opportunities by the coach? That's up to the coach.

"I think with my head, I make decisions with my head. So we'll see."

The 23-year-old forward spent time under Blues boss Jose Mourinho while the Portuguese mentor was in charge at Inter Milan and is reportedly also interested in the young star.
