Arsenal chase Chile striker

Cape Town - Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants to add a second Chilean Soccer World Cup star to his 2014/15 English Premiership squad.

talkSPORT are reporting that Arsenal want to add a second Chile forward to their squad for the upcoming season.

After signing Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona, Arsene Wenger wants to bring Napoli's Eduardo Vargas to the Emirates.

Reports in Italy suggest that Arsenal are very interested in the player but may face competition from Valencia for the 24-year-old striker.

Vargas spent last season on loan with Valencia while the player has reportedly been left out of Napoli's Champions League squad ahead of their qualifying match against Athletic Bilbao.

Vargas spent six months on loan at Valencia last season where he scored five goals in 25 appearances.

The striker scored his national side's opening goal in their crucial Group B match against Spain during the 2014 Soccer World Cup.

The Chilean star has failed to gain a regular first team spot at Napoli since joining the club in 2012 from Universidad de Chile for a fee of £11.5 million.
