Arsenal back in Khedira race

Cape Town - Arsenal are back in the race to sign German international Sami Khedira with Bayern Munich also interested in the midfielder's signature.

Real Madrid are ready to offload the World Cup winner this summer and are willing to entertain offers for the midfield general according to the Mirror.

Reports suggest that Arsenal have been unable to agree on personal terms with Khedira but it appears that Real Madrid might push the player out of the team with Arsenal waiting to pounce.

Bayern Munich are interested in the player but only want him to join next season when he can make the move for free as his contract with Real expires at the end of this season.

There are indications that the player wants to return to Germany and may yet decided to play out the season with Real Madrid.

Madrid are hopeful that Arsenal can agree terms with Khedira, who's wage demands would make him the highest paid player at the Emirates, so that they can re-enter the transfer market.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
