Cape Town - Hollywood actor and Chelsea fan Will Ferrell has "slammed" Jose Mourinho's defensive tactics.

Ferrell, picking up the Comedian of the Year at the GQ awards on Tuesday, poked fun at Mourinho - who collected the Editor's Special Award.

Mourinho's side - the defending Premier League champions, who were labelled "boring" last season by sections of fans - have started off their 2015/16 campaign with just one win in four games.

"Keep playing defence, man," Ferrell said.

"Keep playing seven guys in the box.

"I love it."
