Ancelotti: Torres will score

London - Fernando Torres will open his goalscoring account for Chelsea before the end of the season, Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti predicted on Tuesday.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea's match with Birmingham City on Wednesday, Ancelotti was adamant that 50 million pound striker Torres would find the net during Chelsea's remaining six games of the season.

Torres has not scored in more than 11 hours of game time since joining Chelsea from Liverpool in the January transfer window.

British bookmakers have even begun taking bets on whether the Spanish international will finally get off the mark for his new club.

However Ancelotti predicted on Tuesday that Torres would break his duck this season.

"He will score," said Ancelotti. "He can score if he plays."

However, Ancelotti refused to say whether Torres would start against Birmingham on Wednesday following Chelsea's 3-1 win at West Bromwich Albion last weekend, when Torres was left on the bench.

"It's very difficult to change the team that played so well against West Brom, not just for the result, not just for the performance. They did very well against West Bromwich," he said.

Ancelotti said Torres was not receiving any special training to help him end his drought.

"We are working with him like we are with the other strikers. He has exercises to score - shooting, crossing - but nothing different from the others," Ancelotti said.

"I think he wants to score and he's not happy for this reason. I would like to see my players every time happy and with confidence. It's not a good moment for Fernando, but I want to do my best to support him."

Stop being obsessed with Torres and Just play Drogba and Anelka for the rest of the season's remaining games if you don't want to be disappointed Carlo...

Get rid of that egotistic, selfish and jealous player in the form of Lampard and then Torres will score. Lampard is to selfish to pass to Torres and to jealous the attention on him will fade - a real has-been (never a great player imo ever)

Ancelotti is right of course Torres will eventually score, don't rush the man, what do you expect for 50 million quid, the two guys we bought with that 50 bar have just been lucky so far, he he he.

That's true Bob, but at least our players support Carrol and Suarez - and Suarez is a great player by himself as well. I would like Torres to score, but he won't if the others don't support him because of jealousy.

Yes Carlo, you are absolutely right, he will score.....EVENTUALLY!!! In the meantime, play your regular goalscorers, Drogba and Anelka and stop being put under pressure by Abromovich to play Torres, as it was his bright idea to bring Torres into the Chelsea fold, a big mistake for which YOU will be the one to pay for, as you will shortly find out.

Just put him on the bunch he will find his legs.

Ancelloti got it all wrong - Torres has already scored - his share of the 50 million quid transfer.
