Alvarez set for Sunderland

Cape Town - Sunderland are set to seal a deal with Inter Milan over the signing of Argentina forward Ricky Alvarez.

The Sunderland Echo report that the Black Cats have struck a deal with Alvarez ahead of the transfer window closing at 23:00 on Monday, September 1.

The Argentine reportedly underwent a medical and will move on a year long loan deal with the Wearside club having an option to buy the player next summer.

The 26-year-old forward's capture will likely end the Black Cats interest in Fabio Borini.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
