Cape Town - Joe Allen is excited to return to Swansea City, the club where he announced himself to the English Premiership in his breakout 2011/12 season.
According to liverpoolfc.com, Allen is excited to make another trip back to his old club, Swansea, City on Monday night.
The midfielder believes he is a much better player than the one that left the Liberty Stadium in 2012 for Anfield.
"There has been growth," Allen told the club's website.
"There have been a few frustrations with injury, but I've moved forward a lot.
"The responsibilities that I have in this team are a lot different to Swansea, so the type of player I've become is different. I'm certainly more versatile. I've added a lot to my game and I'm looking forward to going back and playing there again."
Allen has made 87 appearances for the Reds since joining the club.
Brendan Rodgers left Swansea City to manage Liverpool and brought Joe Allen to Anfield shortly after taking up his position as Reds boss.
In another intriguing angle to the match, Jonjo Shelvey will face his former Liverpool teammates in the white and black of Swansea.
The match kicks off at 22:00 on Monday night.
