Aguero injury blow for Man City

London - Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed on Tuesday that star striker Sergio Aguero will be out for a month with a hamstring injury sustained on international duty.

Aguero, 27, scored five goals against Newcastle United on his last City appearance, but was stretchered off during the first half of Argentina's 2-0 loss to Ecuador in World Cup qualifying on October 8.

Pellegrini, whose side host Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday, also said that Aguero's fellow injury victims Gael Clichy, Fabian Delph and David Silva could return to action next week.

"Aguero is out for a month," Pellegrini told reporters at the City Football Academy in Manchester. "Maybe next week Clichy, Delph and Silva will be fit."

In Aguero's absence, City thrashed Bournemouth 5-1 in the Premier League on Saturday, with Raheem Sterling claiming a hat-trick and Wilfried Bony, Aguero's deputy, scoring twice.

Pellegrini also played down an interview that midfielder Yaya Toure gave to French sports daily L'Equipe in which the Ivorian said he was "not happy" due to a perceived lack of recognition in the English media.

"Yaya is happy here," the City manager said. "He doesn't have any problem."
