England 'often beats itself'

Landover - Jurgen Klinsmann says England's football fortunes are hampered by negative fans and media.

The current US and former German coach says domestic media have two choices when it comes to national teams: "You can say, I support my team, from the media perspective, too, or I give them trouble and I give them doubts."

Referring to "nasty comments," Klinsmann pointed out England's performance in the 2010 Soccer World Cup, where it was eliminated by Germany in the second round.

"If you look at England, England often beats itself. It's not the opponents necessarily," Klinsmann said. "They make themselves so much problems."

The issue with England is that the fans and media overrate their team. Just because all their players play in the EPL doesnt mean they are the best. Consider this, how many Chelsea players in the starting 11 that won the CL were actually English??? And this is the point I am trying to make. Apart from a few exceptional players like Joe Hart, Rooney and to some degree Terry, how many of Englands players would you actually consider among the best in their respective positions?
