Chelsea drawn to face Basel

Nyon - European champions Chelsea will play Basel in the Europa League semi-finals, with the first-leg match in Switzerland.

Fenerbahce face Benfica with the opening leg played in Turkey.

Basel and Fenerbahce have reached their first semi-final in any European club competition.

All four teams began the season in the Champions League before being eliminated and dropping into the second-tier competition.

First-leg matches will be played on April 25. Return games are on May 2.

The final is on May 15 at Amsterdam Arena.

The fixtures for the Europa League semi-finals following the draw made at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, on Friday:

Semi-finals first leg - Thursday, April 25

Fenerbahce (TUR) v Benfica (POR)
Basel (SUI) v Chelsea (ENG)

Semi-finals second leg - Thursday, May 2

Benfica (POR) v Fenerbahce (TUR)
Chelsea (ENG) v Basel (SUI)
