Tottenham seek momentum with Bayern visit

Cape Town - Tottenham Hotspur will be targeting their first win in Group B when they lock horns with Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Kick-off is at 21:00 (SA time).

Spurs were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw by Olympiakos in their group opener, while Bayern took care of Red Star Belgrade, and defeat tonight would see the north Londoners fall five points behind in the race for top spot.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has some decisions to make, especially in defence as Serge Aurier is banned at the weekend due to his red card and may well get the nod to start at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Kyle Walker-Peters is still struggling for full fitness.

The Argentine tactician tends to rotate his full backs for Europe's elite club competition, so Ben Davies might be given a start ahead of Danny Rose, while Davinson Sanchez could play some part.

However, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are likely to continue in the centre of defence.

Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks are likely to carry on in midfield, with Eric Dier, Oliver Skipp and Victor Wanyama probably set for bench duty.

Harry Kane will lead the line once more and the home faithful will hope for another big performance from the England star after his winner against Saints.

Hueng-min Son may be preferred ahead of Lucas Moura once again although there is a chance the boss might opt to recall Dele Alli after he was among the substitutes at the weekend.

This is a huge clash in the group, and he needs his best players at the top of their game.

Former Arsenal player Serge Gnabry returns to north London for Bayern and will doubtless receive the customary welcome for any ex-Gunner, but the home fans will just be hoping they can come away with the points to get their campaign back on track.
