Terry to miss PSG clash

Cape Town - Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink has revealed that centre-back John Terry will not be in contention to face Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The Blues skipper has been on the treatment for the past three weeks and, while the 35-year-old has returned to light training, he is still working his way back to full fitness.

Hiddink is hopeful that Terry will be available for selection when Chelsea play host to West Ham United in the Premier League on 20 February.

"I don't think John will make it on Wednesday. For the time being, there has not been enough development to put him on the list," Hiddink said.

"It's not worse - he trained and had treatment on Saturday morning, and he can run, but he cannot go into a longer stretch where you have to accelerate. There he has to be careful.

"When he is ready to do so, maybe on Tuesday, he will play in a practice match, but I don't think he will make it. Hopefully, let's see what can be done for next weekend."

Chelsea will be aiming to keep a clean sheet and score at least one goal when they take on PSG at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, having suffered a 2-1 defeat to the French champions in Paris over a fortnight ago.
