Cape Town - Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller became the most prolific German in European club competitions following his late equaliser against Juventus in a thrilling Champions League Round of 16 second leg encounter on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old scored his 35th goal in the Champions League, and in doing so overtook Gerd Müller's tally to top the list of all-time German scorers in Europe's elite competition.
Gerd Muller was a prolific striker for Bayern Munich between 1964 and 1979, scoring 398 goals in 453 appearances. He scored 34 goals from 35 games in the European Cup playing for the Bavarians.
