Cape Town - Thomas Meunier has praised Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Neymar after the Brazilian scored a hat-trick in the Parisians' 6-1 thrashing of Red Star Belgrade.
PSG came into the Champions League Group C encounter having lost their opening game 3-2 at Liverpool, but they responded with a comprehensive victory over Red Star at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.
Neymar led the charge for the hosts as he scored in the 20th and 22nd minute of the game to put PSG 2-0 ahead. Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria, and Kylian Mbappe all found the back of the net as well, before Neymar completed his hat-trick in the 81st minute.
"He was excellent. It was the great Neymar, as he has already proved in the past," Meunier told the press after the game.
"He has already scored two and three goals in a match before. We all know his qualities.
"We can be proud to have a player like that in our team – and he can be proud of who he has around him as well."
