Kane: Spurs can handle pressure of Juve tie

Cape Town - Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane believes his team are favourites to beat Juventus in the UEFA Champions League and insists they relish the pressure.

Mauricio Pochettino's side surprised many by pulling off a 2-2 draw with the Serie A champions in the first leg of their last-16 clash in Turin last month, and now enjoy the away-goal advantage for Wednesday's Wembley meeting.

Kane agrees that Spurs are probably considered favourites to progress into the quarter-finals, but has told team-mates not to get too carried away with the praise.

"Probably we were not the favourites before but people are looking at us after that performance at Juventus and saying we should go through now," he was quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.

"We have got to cope with that and see how we come through it. We know we played well out there and on another day we could have won but we are not getting carried away.

"We know it is a big game. Champions League nights are what we all want to be involved in and this is a chance to get into the quarter-finals.

"Of course there will be a bit more added pressure and maybe more nerves, but that is why we play football."

Kick-off is at 21:45 (SA time).

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
