Kane motivated by Messi, Ronaldo

Cape Town - Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has revealed that he finds inspiration in the staggering goal-scoring records held by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

In Europe's top five leagues Kane only trails Messi in terms of goals scored in 2017. The England international has scored 25 goals in only 23 games this year.

The 24-year-old has been a consistent goal-scorer in the Premier League over the last three years, and is now determined to take his form into Europe, with APOEL Nicosia up next in the Champions League group stage on Wednesday.

“I use it,” said Kane, as quoted by the Telegraph. “With social media these days it’s difficult to stay away from it [the comparisons with Messi and Ronaldo].

"I want to be one of the best players in the world, so when people put it up and I see I am close to those players, it is a great incentive to get closer and go to the next step.”
