Monaco head coach Leonardo Jardim feels the 5-0 victory over Metz was
the perfect preparation for his side ahead of their UEFA Champions
League tie with Manchester City.
Les Monégasques meet the English Premier League side in a last-16 at the City of Manchester Stadium next week Tuesday on the back end of a thumping result in the league.
Radamel Falcao grabbed a brace, while 18-year-old forward Kylian Mbappe, who has been described by Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger as the next Thierry Henry, scored his first professional hat-trick against the 15th placed side.
"We had a good game, we created lots of chances in the first half," the Portuguese tactician said on the club's official Twitter account.
"I have congratulated Kylian Mbappe for his three goals. He was great offensively but I have [congratulated] him on his defensive work as well.
"I told the players that the best way to prepare for Manchester City [in the Champions League] is to win against Metz and Bastia."
Bardim's men will face Manchester City in the knock-out stages of the Champions League on February 21 at the Etihad Stadium and will be looking to for the least grab an important away goal.
