Cape Town - Antoine Griezmann feels Atletico Madrid can't regard themselves as winners of the Champions League simply because they are tournament favourites.
On their way to the final, Atletico brushed aside the reigning champions of the Dutch, Spanish and German leagues, but their star midfielder insists that on the night of the final, this counts for very little.
"We won’t win just because we beat Bayern or Barca. We have to be 100 out of 100 because it’ll be difficult," the 25-year old said at a Press conference as part of a club media day.
Reporters urged the Frenchman to comment on his coach’s recent statements that he is one of the best three players in the world at the moment.
"It’s great," he said. "I really try to do my best in every game and every training session, and my team-mates and the coaching staff have done everything for me to be at this level. I hope it continues like this."
The player also discussed the two finalists' strategies for the match.
"Each will have their tactics and words before the game, and half-time will be important, as well as the changes," he added. "Ours must be prepared to change the game."
