Cape Town - Striker Edin Dzeko became the first Roma player to score a hat-trick in the Champions League as his side comfortably beat Viktoria Plzen 5-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.

The 32-year-old attacker also became the first player from Bosnia & Herzegovina to score a hat-trick in the Champions League.
Dzeko opened the scoring in the 3rd minute before doubling Roma's lead just before half-time in the 40th minute to give his side a comfortable advantage at the break.
Cengiz Ünder who assisted Dzeko's second goal then found the back of the net himself in the 63rd minute.
Justin Kluivert then scored in the 72nd minute to become Roma's youngest ever Champions League scorer before Dzeko completed his hat-trick late in the 92nd minute as Roma ran out comfortable 5-0 winners.
Roma are now tied with Real Madrid in second position in Group G on 3 points behind CSKA Moscow who pulled off a surprise win against the Spanish giants.
