De Bruyne feeling 'stronger and stronger'

Cape Town - Manchester City playmaker Kevin de Bruyne says he is feeling good and is slowly finding his rhythm again after recovering from injury.

The Belgium international was out of contention for two months, after picking up an injury in City's Premier League opener against Arsenal but made his comeback off the bench in the 5-0 thrashing of Burnley on Saturday and played 69 minutes on Tuesday as the Sky Blues beat Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0 in the Champions League.

"I feel good. I'm back, I'm playing, I think I did well," he told reporters. "I'm getting stronger and stronger, I just need games to get back into the rhythm but to play half an hour (at the weekend) and 70 minutes today is fine.

"I think they did really well [while I was injured]. They didn't lose, apart from the Lyon game, so I think the team did really well without me, but I didn't expect anything different."

The win over Shakhtar moved City to the summit of Group F but De Bruyne says it's too early to say if they can challenge for the Champions League title.

"We lost a game, so we need to get back the points. It is important to be first in the group, now we’re there with three games to go," he added.

"I don’t know [if we're better this season]. Last year was so good, the beginning has been really good, so I think it’s on the same level. We’re doing well.

"Too early to say [if we can win it]. We’ll try to win every game and we’ll see what happens."
