Costa at Juventus to win Champions League

Cape Town - Juventus newboy Douglas Costa has declared that he made the move from Bayern Munich to the Bianconeri to help them win the Champions League.

The 26-year-old's game-time was limited at Die Roten last season as he made only 23 Bundesliga appearances, which prompted a loan move to the Serie A champions.

The Old Lady has lost two of the last three seasons' Champions League finals, and Costa is determined to help them claim the title for the first time since 1996.

"Why Juventus? Because in three years they played two Champions League finals, they’re the team with the most desire and the most opportunities to win the Champions League," Costa told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I want to enter into the history of this club. One year out from the World Cup, I couldn't have chosen a better club.

"I’m here to win everything, including the Champions League," he added. "The Scudetto? Juve are like Bayern, this is a great team and everyone will give their all to win against us.

"In Italy they play a tactically perfect football and it’s difficult to unlock defences. It will take patience. Milan and Inter have strengthened, but Juve have the right players to confirm ourselves."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
