Alexander-Arnold: Ramos is the world's best centre-back

Cape Town - Even though Sergio Ramos irked many involved with Liverpool with his antics during May's Champions League final, Trent Alexander-Arnold has hailed his ability.

Alexander-Arnold was on the losing side in a match which saw both Mohamed Salah and Loris Karius hurt by challenges from the Spain defender.

The former was substituted off in the first half, while the latter made two costly blunders after apparently suffering a concussion.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp hit out at the "ruthless and brutal" actions of Ramos, but that did not take away Alexander-Arnold's respect for him.

"Everyone has their ways of winning and he has shown over the last 10 years that he's a winner," the 19-year-old full-back was quoted as saying by Goal.

"So, has his team. To win the Champions League three times in a row takes some doing.

"Ramos has probably been the best centre-back in the world for some time. Even if he was the enemy in May, you still have to respect him as a player."

Alexander-Arnold was on the England bench as Ramos' Spain beat them 2-1 in Saturday's UEFA Nations League clash.
