Cape Town - Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is keen to avoid big hitters Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the next round of the Champions League as the Citizens aim to win Europe's elite club title.
The Manchester-based club advanced to the quarter-finals for the first time in their history after beating Dynamo Kiev 3-1 on aggregate over two legs on Tuesday evening.
Aguero, who scored the opening goal when City beat Dynamo in Kiev a fortnight ago, is hoping to avoid the European giants when the quarter-final draw is made on Friday.
Bayern still have to overcome Juventus in their second-leg encounter on Wednesday, while Barca are expected to advance to the next stage having beaten Arsenal 2-0 in England in the first leg.
However, Aguero knows that if City want to conquer Europe they would have to play the best teams at some point in the competition.
The Argentine striker told Goal: "You always want to go far, and to do that you have to face the best.
"Obviously Barca and Bayern are there, who are the two best by form, and obviously if we can avoid them all the better, but at some point we will have to face them."
