Cape Town - While Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated Real Madrid's Champions League victory by ripping his shirt off, and teammate Gareth Bale tied a scarf around his head, midfielder Luka Modric has made a more permanent alteration to his appearance to mark the triumph.
Modric, who played all 120 minutes of Real Madrid's extra time win over rivals Atletico Madrid, has celebrated 'La Decima' by cutting his hair.
The former Tottenham player posed for a photograph with his hairdresser, Miguel Siero, who also cuts and styles the hair of teammates Ronaldo and Bale.
The photographs were later posted on Twitter leaving Modric looking almost unrecognisable without his long flowing locks.
The Croatian will be without his signature hairstyle for the World Cup, but hopes his new-look will inspire him in helping his national side's aims for a successful tournament in Brazil next month.
