Cape Town - Former Bafana Bafana coach Philippe Troussier has expressed interest in making a return to his previous job following the resignation of Stuart Baxter last week.
Speaking to supersport.com, Troussier said he would consider a second bite of the cherry.
“I did not apply but if any opportunity to take care of Bafana job I will be interested. I am in Vietnam right now as a technical director,” said the Frenchman.
Nicknamed the "White Witch Doctor" the Frenchman helped Nigeria qualify for the 1998 Soccer World Cup but was relieved of his job before the tournament got underway.
He subsequently, went on to manage Burkina Faso in the 1998 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) taking them to the semi-finals where they eventually lost 2-0 to Egypt.
Troussier was at the helm of Bafana at the 1998 World Cup where they bombed out in the first round.
The Frenchman was in charge of six Bafana games - and won none of them.
