WATCH: 'Chippa' Masinga's goal that sent Bafana to 1998 SWC

Cape Town - Back in 1997 Bafana Bafana faced central African nation Congo Brazzaville in a Soccer World Cup qualifying match which they won 1-0 courtesy of a sensational Phil 'Chippa' Masinga goal.

The scintillating strike was enough to see South Africa qualify for their first ever World Cup in France.

On Sunday, 49-year-old Masinga died after battling cancer.

Tributes from across the country poured in over social media as the untimely death shocked the South African public.

Meanwhile, funeral details are yet to be revealed by the Masinga family.
