Cape Town - Bafana Bafana midfielder Themba Zwane wants to win silverware with the national side and replicate the success he has had with his club Mamelodi Sundowns.
Zwane is a key player in a Sundowns team that has won plenty of trophies in domestic football in the last few seasons while he was also part of the team that won the CAF Champions League in 2016.
The 30-year-old was part of the Bafana squad that reached the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt earlier this year and says the national side is progressing.
Zwane said in quotes published on the IOL Sport website: "Yes, it is true that I haven't enjoyed the same type of success that I've been enjoying with Sundowns and I want to change that.
"I believe that it is possible. We reached the quarter-finals in this year's Afcon and we have to keep progressing until we reach the pinnacle.
"I also want to win something with my country. If I can do that then I'll be a very happy man."
Zwane is expected to play a key role when Bafana Bafana take on Mali in the Nelson Mandela Challenge in Port Elizabeth on Sunday.
