Shakes picks new skipper for Angola clash

Cape Town - Coach Shakes Mashaba has named his Bafana Bafana XI for Friday's crucial 2018 Soccer World Cup qualifier against Angola.

Mashaba sprung something of a surprise when he handed goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane the captain's armband.

The first leg clash in Benguela kicks off at 16:30 time. Next Tuesday's second-leg encounter at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban will start at 19:00.

Both sides are battling it out for a spot in the group stages of African qualifying for the tournament to be staged in Russia. The loser of the second-leg tie will crash out of contention.
